About Us

After almost 20 years of owning and operating The Brass Ring, my wife and I still find ourselves grateful every day for the support our independent business gets from this community.

In 2004, we sought to establish a great place to enjoy the authentic, human interaction through games like pool and shuffleboard, weekly trivia shows, and events and parties we have helped you hold over the years.

We wanted to create a space where people could enjoy the company of one friend or one hundred in a large inviting space that still manages to feel cozy.

We believe that our business should reflect a personal effort and a personal pride and to that end we strive to create a place with quality food, excellent craft beers and cocktails, great games and gaming equipment in a warm and inviting atmosphere. We also believe that good customer service comes from a culture amongst our staff that is positive and personal.

In 2004, we decided that despite the risks and knowing the chances we were taking that we would “go for the brass ring” because we believed it offered a unique opportunity to do the things we loved in our life and still enjoy the feeling of autonomy.

We have both worked in this industry from the age of 16, and remained in it while we graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison. We first owned a business in downtown Madison 20 years ago that emphasized the same values we try to institute today, a small pool hall and bar called Cue-Nique Billiards. At some point, we decided to try something that grew from our experiences and expanded upon it in an area of Madison that showed such a promise.

We both feel lucky that this promise was fulfilled and now we are a part of a thriving rejuvenated east corridor and a favorite place to visit before you go to a concert, whether big or small, to a sporting event at the stadium across the way or whether you are just visiting us for everything we offer.

We thank you for your business and hope we get a chance to meet you in the years to come.
